About Us

The Inner West Multicultural Interagency is a networking forum where services, programs and needs are identified and promoted- especially as they relate to culturally and linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities and emerging migrant communities. The Interagency covers the Inner West Local Government areas of Ashfield, Burwood, Canada Bay, Leichhardt and Strathfield.

Previously known as the Inner West Ethnic Network (IWEN), was first established in 2004. The IWEN network met bimonthly and was convened by the Smith Family Inner West Community Settlement Service (The last meeting convened by the Smith family was held in August 2011).

Since October 2011 the Inner West Multicultural Interagency is convened and facilitated by Metro MRC and has been meeting bi-monthly.
The IWMI represents a network and partnership of key service providers within the Inner West of Sydney including representations from Government,Local Council,Employment,Area Commands,Education and Community service organisations.  Interagency meetings provide an opportunity for members to debrief, share information and collaborate on projects that benefit our wider constituency.
