Family Planning NSW Community education

We know that reproductive and sexual health can sometimes be difficult to talk about, especially among people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities – so we want to remind you that we are available to visit your service to talk about a range of related topics with CALD groups. We believe it is incredibly important for each of us to know and understand all parts of our bodies, how to look after ourselves and how to stay safe.

Our experienced health promotion officers are skilled in delivering information about these sensitive topics in a way that promotes safety and comfort for the participants. We are experienced in working with health care interpreters to deliver sessions, and always aim to make the information relevant, engaging and fun!

Our topics include:

•             Well Women – cervical screening and breast awareness

•             Contraception and family planning

•             Menopause

•             Sexual health, healthy relationships and staying safe

•             Puberty – for youth

•             Puberty – for parents of youth

•             Health literacy and accessing health services *For participants with moderate, or higher levels of English speaking and reading ability

Sessions can be adapted to suit different groups.

We deliver to all ages, and groups in Sydney LHD.

If you are interested in finding out more, or organising an information session for your group, please do not hesitate to contact me via the details below, or respond to this email.
